Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past month, you’ve probably heard a little something about the many scandals currently plaguing the Obama administration. Over the past 30 days, there have been numerous new revelations in the Benghazi investigation, it was released that the Department of Justice targeted the AP and Fox News, the IRS targeted Tea Party and conservative groups applying for tax exempt status, and June 6th it was revealed that the National Security Agency has been conducting surveillance of Verizon phone records since as early as 2009.
Throughout these scandals, officials are being fired and resigning left and right. However, President Obama, the man who essentially all of these scandals revolve around, has been playing it cool. Steven Miller, acting commissioner of the IRS, was fired by President Obama on May 15th, and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, who is the head of the DOJ, was ordered to complete a report to clear up why reporters at the AP and Fox News were being monitored, but failed to do so (shocker?).
Yet, while all of these investigations have been going on, President Obama has simply continued life as normal. He even spent some time palling around with new friend NJ Governor Chris Christie. It seems almost as if Mr. Obama has emerged completely unscathed. Well, he has. Until now.
It seems that the information that the Obama administration has been listening to thousands of American citizens phone calls without their knowledge has finally sent many over the edge. Although Senator Dianne Feinstein tried to pass it off as “protecting America,” people aren’t idiots. The sheeps wool covering the wolf that the Obama administration is has fallen off.
The New York Times, a former fan of the President, posted an article in response to this new scandal in which they condemn Obama. “The administration has now lost all credibility. Mr. Obama is proving the truism that the executive will use any power it is given and very likely abuse it.”
To make matters worse, for the first time in his Presidency, there is no way for Barack Obama to blame George W. Bush for all of his problems. Bush 43 didn’t lie to the world about a terrorist attack, didn’t go after liberal groups via the IRS, and didn’t spy on MSNBC or CNN reporters through the DOJ. No, these scandals are all at the hand of Barack Hussein Obama. And although impeachment is highly unlikely, there is no denying that these scandals will go down in history and most likely outshine any “good” the President does throughout his two terms.
