Late Sunday night, Free Beacon published an article entitled “The Hillary Tapes,” in which reporter Alana Goodman exposes a bombshell about Hillary Rodham Clinton from her early years as a lawyer in Arkansas. In the article, Ms. Goodman releases a never before heard audio of Mrs. Clinton from the mid-80’s discussing the case which brought her into the limelight: Defending Thomas Alfred Taylor, a 41-year-old man accused of raping a 12-year-old girl.
The audio is taken from an interview with Arkansas reporter Roy Reed for an article on then Governor Bill Clinton and his wife for Esquire magazine that was never published. Although Hillary has addressed her defense of a rapist previously, she has never talked about the issue this extensive or openly.
Throughout the interview, Hillary speaks candidly about her defense of Mr. Taylor. She admits that she knew he was guilty even though he was able to pass a polygraph test saying, “I had him take a polygraph, which he passed – which forever destroyed my faith in polygraphs,” as she laughed.
Clinton accredits her cunning skill as the chief reason she was able to get Taylor off with a mere 2 months in jail when, if proven guilty, he would’ve faced 30 years to life. Most will disregard this revelation and state that the future First Lady and 2016 Presidential hopeful was simply doing her job, defending her client. It’s true that in defending Mr. Taylor, then Hillary Rodham was doing her job. However, for her to discuss crucial details of the case with a reporter 10 years after the case is still a violation of attorney-client privilege.
Furthermore, Hillary treats the matter with complete disdain the entire time it is the topic of the interview. On numerous occasions, she laughs about attacking the character and reliability of an innocent 12-year-old girl, laughs about knowing her defendant was guilty, laughs about getting him off basically scot-free.
If Mrs. Clinton had not on many occasions portrayed herself as a women and children’s rights activist, this news would amount to nothing. But for a woman who has defined herself for the past 20-30 years as a fighter for those rights, this proves how truly little Hillary cares about both women and children.
Shortly after Free Beacon published this article, Politico reporter Glenn Thrush took to Twitter to reveal that he had attempted to publish an indepth article on this audio back in 2008 while Clinton was running for President, but his editor at the time rejected his article because, “It might have an impact.”
If this audio was not from Mrs. Clinton, but from a Republican like Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, or Chris Christie, the mainstream media would be all over it, and that person’s political career would be dead. No questions asked. Yet because the revelation is from former First Lady and Democrat goddess Hillary Clinton, the story has been buried for nearly 30 years. Thankfully, Free Beacon doesn’t care.
