On Monday, March 23rd, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) kicked off the 2016 Presidential election by formally announcing his candidacy for the GOP nomination at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. In the mere days that have passed, the media, both Liberal and Conservative, have debated the probability of Cruz winning the nomination, and uniting the GOP to defeat his potential Democrat opponent if he is able to secure the nomination.
For nearly a month, it’s been known that Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) will be making a “major announcement” on April 7th at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. Around the time of Sen. Cruz’s announcement, RandPAC made Sen. Paul’s event public, allowing supporters to get tickets.
The latest to enter the announcement phase of the 2016 election cycle is Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL). Rumors are circulating from sources close to the Rubio camp that he will be formally entering the race April 13th at the Freedom Tower in Miami, Florida. Although the event has yet to be confirmed, it is all but -certain that Rubio is running.
