California: Fish Over Families?

The water shortage in California is not news to anyone, but the cause might be. Former CEO of Hewett-Packard and potential 2016 presidential candidate calls it a “Man-Made Disaster”.

Fiorina says that the implementation of various policies over the past twenty years the current water shortage could have been avoided even with the current drought. California has suffered from droughts for centuries, but now government policies are hurting rather than helping said Fiorina in a column for Time Magazine.

Fiorinia blames this situation on

overzealous liberal environmentalists who continue to devalue the lives and livelihoods of California residents in pursuit of their own agenda.

imageLiberals are continuing to promote policies which allow rainfall to continue to wash out to sea, despite the awareness of the drought and water shortage says Fiorina.  Not only are liberals not working to remedy the water shortage, but they are actively blocking means which would help to remedy the situation. “While they have watched this water wash out to sea, liberals have simultaneously prevented the construction of a single new reservoir or a single new water conveyance system over decades,” says Fiorina. In fact, California has not completed  a significant water infrastructure project in over fifty years. This has all taken place as California’s population has doubled and continues to grow.

Recently Fiorina discussed this issue on the Glenn Beck Program where she said

California is the classic case of liberals be willing to sacrifice others lives, and livelihoods at the altar of their ideology.

Fiorina also told Beck that Washington was given the power to manage California’s water supply in the interest of protecting the smelt fish. Thus, California’s famer’s are only getting 10% of their allocated water supply in order to protect the smelt fish.

So basically, were elevating fish over families and individuals. This brings to mind a couple of verses which seem applicable here.   Genesis 1:28 tells us “…rule over the fish of the sea, and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves along the ground.”  The second verse is Roman 1: 25 which says “The exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the created things rather than the Creator who is forever praised. Amen.”  Now, these verses do not mean that we should abuse or take advantage of God’s creation.  God desires us to care for his creation, but at the same time to rule it, without letting it rule over us.  Also, when we place more importance on some aspect of Creation than we do on human beings, that is “worshiping the creature more than the creator” which is not honoring God.

California was once a rich agricultural land that has been destroyed by liberal ideology.  When it comes down to it liberals don’t even really care about the fish to begin with, the fish are merely a means by which the are advancing their environmentalist agenda. Why are they so obessed with this environmentalism. Perhaps because they think it makes them look “cool”, “in touch”, and relatable particularly with millennials.

Well listen up liberals, news flash, millennials don’t care about your precious fish. We care about the economy, and paying off our student debt, and finding a decent paying job when we get out of college.
