On Wednesday, 2016 Presidential candidate Carly Fiorinia was a guest on Fox News Channels “Hannity” where she discussed her competitior Hillary Clinton and the former Secretary of State’s claimed work for women.
Since she announced her campaign on May 4th and in the months leading up to her entrance into the 2016 field, Fiorina has been focusing on calling Hillary Clinton’s record and actions into qestion because as she states in the interview with Sean Hannity, Hillary gets away with a lot. Fiorinia believes the Republican party needs a nominee who can not only call Clinton’s actions out, but prove to the public exactly why her actions are reprehensible.
One such action is what Fiorinia claims Clinton has done to women. Although the former Secretary of State campaigns on the fact that she’s fought for women and children, Fiorinia claims that Clinton believes “you don’t count as a woman” unless you’re Liberal.
“You know, I think the word feminism, let’s just back up for a moment, to me, a feminist is a woman who chooses her own life. The life she chooses could be to have five children and stay home and homeschool them. The life she chooses could be to go on to work. But a woman should have the opportunity to choose her own life.
Unfortunately, these words get politicized, and the word feminist got politicized by the National Organization for Women, and NOW is clearly a political organization. They want to put forward a particular political agenda.
So, for example, Hillary Clinton during the 2014 elections said, when she was campaigning against Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA)75% for Bruce Braley, she said, ‘well, it’s not enough to be a woman, you have to be a woman who believes,’ and she then went on and listed the liberal orthodoxy. And that is how these folks think, that unless you fit their orthodoxy, you don’t count as a woman, you don’t count as an African-American, you don’t count as a Hispanic. And of course, that’s ridiculous. We need to take gender and race out of all these conversations, we need to unify the nation once again. But Hillary Clinton will try to make gender the issue in her election.”
Bingo. If you’re going to claim to be a champion for womens rights, you kinda need to have the record to prove it. Hillary Clinton has a proven record of standing up for Planned Parenthood, but does she have a proven record of standing up for single moms who, like Fiorina said, just want to be a stay-at-home mom who homeschools her kids? No. No, she doesn’t. Why? Because Carly Fiorinia is right. If you’re not a Liberal woman (aka someone who will vote for Hillary), Mrs. Clinton couldn’t care less about you.
