Johnny Depp Made a Trip to Australian Children’s Hospital Dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow

Jack is back! I repeat, Jack. Is. Back. Excuse me, Captain Jack.

Actor Johnny Depp and Co. are currently on location in Australia filming the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean saga. The movie, aptly titled Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, is slated for a July 7, 2017 release. Several familiar faces from previous POTC films will be spotted in the new film, including Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbossa, Kevin McNally as Gibbs, and even Orlando Bloom is back to reprise his role as the swashbuckling Will Turner.

Along with the POTC veterans come some exciting new rookies. The Maze Runner‘s Kaya Scodelario and The Giver‘s Brenton Thwaites are two young new stars for the series with Javier Bardem set to join the Pirates world as the villain, Captain Salazar.

On Tuesday, the Children’s Hospital Foundation posted pictures of Depp and one of his fellow Pirates cast members visiting children at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital decked out in their characters costumes. The children were visibly ecstatic.

Juiced TV released exclusive footage of Depp’s trip to the children’s hospital. The actors visit was a special trip to meet a young Australian girl, Ula, who has battled cancer twice in her young life. Hospital staff, family, and friends, lined the halls as Ula made her way to meet with her surprise guest.

Here’s video of the visit courtesy of Juiced TV (Grab a box of tissues before you hit play):

For several years, Depp has been infamous for taking his Captain Jack costume with him wherever he goes, and making spur-of-the-moment pit stops at children’s hospitals to brighten a few lucky kids day. Whether you’re a Pirates of the Caribbean fan or not, you have to admit, Depp is a class act.
