The Center for Medical Progress released a fourth video this morning exposing Planned Parenthood’s practice of trafficking aborted fetal parts, this time showing a top Planned Parenthood executive extracting fetal organs.
The latest video begins with undercover filmmakers talking to Dr. Savita Ginde, who is vice-president and medical director of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains. Ginde is seen discussing a potential sale with the filmmakers, who pose as representatives of a research facility interested in purchasing the parts.
“I’ve seen livers, I’ve seen stomachs, I’ve seen plenty of neural tissue,” Ginde says. “Usually you can see the whole brain come out.” Ginde goes on to discuss the process of getting intact “specimens.” Buyers typically want well-developed fetal parts, and Ginde says her clinics perform several second trimester abortions on a given day.
Later in the video Ginde discusses the legal ramifications, insisting they portray a united front in terms of public relations.
“I know putting it under ‘research’ gives us a little bit of overhang over the whole thing,” Ginde says, describing a conversation with legal counsel for Planned Parenthood. “We don’t want to get called on selling fetal parts across states.”
The last few minutes of the video contains very graphic material and should be viewed with discretion. As Ginde looks on, an abortion clinic worker punctures a fetal skull and extracts the brain.
“It’s a baby,” Ginde says of the 12-week-old specimen. She is later shown extracting organs herself. “Here’s a stomach, heart, kidney, adrenal,” Ginde says as she picks at fetal material in a dish with a medical instrument. “Do you see the legs?” she asks the assistant.
The video ends with Ginde exclaiming, “And another boy!”
This is the fourth edited video released by the Center for Medical Progress, although they have also released unedited “full footage” videos of their undercover operations. In a recent interview, a representative of CMP indicated there will be 12 edited videos released in total.
The first video featured Deborah Nucatola, the senior director of medical research at Planned Parenthood, discussing the broad practice of selling fetal parts and how abortionists will “crush” the unborn baby in a way that does not damage the fetal tissue.
The second video showed Dr. Mary Gatter, President of Planned Parenthood’s Medical Directors’ Council, haggling over the price of fetal parts. The third video features an interview with Holly O’Donnell, a former Procurement Technician with StemExpress.
Planned Parenthood has continued to assert that their clinics only donate fetal tissue and are not paid for it. Some legal experts have indicated that Planned Parenthood could be exploiting loopholes in the law in order to receive monetary compensation for the use of their facilities or the shipping of the body parts.
However, in this latest video, Ginde agrees to an arrangement where the clinic would be paid per part, not for the shipping or the time to use the clinic.
