Ronda Rousey Responds to Feminist Reporter’s Question on Gender Income Inequality Gap

Even if you aren’t a UFC fan you are probably familiar with Ronda Rousey. Rousey was the first women admitted to the UFC, and is now the highest paid fighter in the UFC.

Over the weekend Rousey took part in a press conference, in which a reporter confronted Rousey about gender income in equality in sports. Rousey responded with an answer that proved she crushes just as well with her words as she can in the ring.

“I think that how much you get paid should have something to do with how much money you bring in. I’m the highest paid fighter not because Dana and Lorenzo wanted to do something nice for the ladies — they do it because I bring in the highest numbers. They do it because I make them the most money, and I think that they make should be proportionate to the money they bring in,” said Rousey, according to the Daily Caller.

Rousey is a true feminist who has not only paved the way for women in the UFC, but also wants to be paid based on her skill level not her sex. is nothing more degrading and discriminatory to a woman, than being given special treatment, based on her sex. I’m not talking about door opening here, despite what the whiny feminists would have you believe, opening a door a woman is not “oppressive.” So open all the doors you want. I’m talking about things like money, we want “equal pay for equal work,” not “pay me more because I’m a woman.

As a woman, I would be furious if I were to discover that my employer was paying me more than other employees, not because I was the better employee, but because of my sex. If I’m a lousy employee, don’t keep me on staff just because you are afraid I’ll play the sex card on you if you terminate me. That is cowardice in one of its lowest forms. It’s also an assault on a woman’s integrity and character, which is of the lowest forms of sexism.

We need more women in pop culture and sports like Rousey. The majority of the celebrity women out there are whiny, wimpy feminists just like the reporter who posed the question to Rousey. Whether these women actually believe this, or whether they are just regurgitating what they are being fed by the media it doesn’t matter. Women look up to them, especially young women simply because they are pop culture celebrities. I’m not saying they’re aren’t exceptions to the rule, because there are and Rousey is one of them. That is exactly why we need more women like Rousey in the public eye.  Rousey is a true feminist who wants to earn what she is paid on not be given a handout based on her sex.
