Alejandro Mendieta is known as one of the most controversial public speakers in today’s world. This is due to his straightforwardness and blunt way of speaking. However, Mr. Mendieta is a very young businessman who is known to deal with a lot of companies and possess his own gold company. Recently, he was charged by ADTC, a diamond wholesaling company that accused Mr. Mendieta of having several diamonds that belonged to their company.
The fuss started when Mr. Bensimon, the owner of Crown Casino Mega Complex, a jeweller, was convicted of bankruptcy and had to let go of his possessions while having to pay a considerable sum of money he had lost. Ron Bensimon and Alejandro Mendieta had quite a lot of dealings concerning gold and diamond, which was why Mr. Mendieta was accused of the allegations charged by ADTC.
Mr. Bensimon was a jeweller who owned Crown Casino Mega Complex and was known to sell diamonds and other jewellery to well-known celebrities. However, he had a severe addiction to gambling and betting, and soon enough, he starts running on losses.
Jon Bensimon lost somewhere around 12,000,000 USD due to several series of betting and gambling habits. Soon enough, due to a survey conducted by legal authorities, it was found that the majority of these losses were accounted for betting on horse races and over the online casinos.
After that, Mr. Bensimon was subjected to bankruptcy and had to let go of his possessions, and while looking out for ways to repay such a huge amount, his sister and parents stepped in, collectively pitching in 2,000,000 USD for this cause. However, the rest of the amount was subjected to a severe scam run by Mr. Bensimon.
Mr. Bensimon had business indulgences with several companies at the time, and Mr. Mendieta’s company was one of them. Jon Bensimon went ahead and started acquiring diamonds from jewellers and wholesalers by offering them consignments. ADTC was one of the companies that had traded several of its diamonds with Mr. Bensimon. However, they never received a payment.
Thus, after Mr. Bensimon was bankrupted, ADTC charged Mr. Mendieta for holding a total of 5 diamonds, which retailed over 500,000 Australian Dollars. Mr. Mendieta was then subjected to a legal lawsuit that was authorised by ADTC. However, Mr. Mendieta proved his innocence and made it clear that all the diamonds under consideration had been returned to Mr. Bensimon in time.
The results were not in favour of ADTC, and they pulled out an old law from the books that proved that Mr. Mendieta is still guilty of the charges and therefore, The Victorian County Court ruled the case in favour of ADTC.
Soon enough, the battle reached the doors of the Supreme Court, where Mr. Mendieta was proven innocent and free from all the charges. ADTC had to suffer huge losses on their account and the director of the company, in particular, was not very pleased with the decisions. ADTC even lost a considerable sum of money, which rounds off to 250,000 USD due to the legal fees on top of the 200,000 USD that they had to pay for the unpaid diamonds.
