    Steps Needed To Take In Emergency Plumbing And Boiler Repair

    The different steps taken in emergency plumbing and boiler repair include the following:

    Establishment Of The Diagnosis

    The first job of the plumber is to understand precisely the problem. He will therefore have to carry out investigations to identify and locate the fault.

    Unclogging The Equipment

    If it’s a plug that’s causing your plumbing problem, the plumber will need to unclog the equipment or pipe. Depending on the location and the plug’s nature, it will use different tools: ferret, suction cup, vacuum cleaner, etc.

    Component Repair

    If a component in your plumbing installation is faulty, the plumber will first try to fix it. For example, he can tighten up or plug a leak.

    Component Replacement

    If the faulty item cannot be repaired, the plumber will need to replace it. He will first take care of shutting off the water supply beforehand.

    Testing And Recommissioning

    Finally, the plumber can restore the water supply and check that the plumbing system works correctly.

    What Are The Most Common Problems?

    There are generally two types of problems in plumbing: either part of your equipment is clogged, or it is leaking due to a lack of tightness.

    In the event of a water leak, the difficulty will be to understand its origin. Finding a water leak can be long and difficult. A piece of equipment has different parts that are liable to leak. For example, for a bathtub or a shower, the water inlet (or outlet), the tap, or the siphon must be monitored. Do you have a hot water tank leak? In this case, there is a good chance that the tank will be pierced or the security group is leaking. If a pipe is leaking, the professional’s attention will be focused on the following organs:

    Heating pipeline;

    Water supply pipe;

    PVC drain hose;

    Valve or stopcock.

    Finally, if you have a problem with your sink, the plumber will investigate the water inlet and outlet, the tap, the siphon, and the drain.

    The scope of the work usually determines who takes charge of the work. Thus, small maintenance-related work (such as replacing a seal, servicing the boiler, repairing a leaking toilet flush, etc.) is the tenant’s responsibility. Conversely, if the work results from a failure of large equipment or a leak from the outside, the owner will bear the bills inherent in repairing the water leak.
