    1. Awning Windows

Awning windows are recommended for good window ventilation. They are hinged on the top and open out on the bottom. They are typically operated by a crank and commonly referred to as crank windows also. They are often placed next to large stationary picture windows, which do not open at all, because they provide the appropriate ventilation needed. Although they are great for air ventilation, they are also helpful in keeping the elements out. It’s important to make sure there is nothing outside that the window can obstruct though as they open outwards. They are commonly used in areas such as the bathroom or kitchen where ventilation and air flow are important.

    1. Casement Windows

Casement windows are hinged windows and open outward like an awning window. However, a casement window is hinged on the side, rather than the top, so it opens out like a door. They come in all different material types and are often used above kitchen sinks or in bathrooms. These windows add style and character to your home or business as well as a good amount of ventilation and light. Before choosing a casement window, it’s important to make sure there is nothing outside that will interfere with the window opening and closing.

    1. Double-hung Single-hung windows

Double-hung and Single-hung windows are the most common residential windows on the market. They are functional for really any type of room. Single-hung windows have only one movable sash whereas a double hung window has two moveable sashes. Both offer plenty of light and ventilation however the double-hung window’s second moveable sash creates more ventilation than the single-hung.

    1. Picture Windows

Picture windows are large scenic windows that allow for a beautiful view. They are only good for places where ventilation is not an issue though as they do not open. They provide a lot of sunlight and a beautiful view. They are also often used for high windows that don’t need to be opened or closed. They are also commonly used in large office buildings.

    1. Bay Windows

Bay windows are beautiful large windows that offer light from all different angles. A Bay window is typically a large protruding area with several smaller windows that curve outward. They are very attractive to the eye and add curb appeal to your home. Inside they provide a lot of light and ventilation as each smaller window can open and close.
