    CTV Advertising Best Practices

    CTV advertising is becoming much more popular, especially with the introduction of more and more streaming platforms and online video websites. More businesses are starting to use the CTV form of advertising as well, as just in the past two years key researchers have seen a 200% increase in television advertising. Some of the most popular brands that are currently using CTV advertising include Peloton, Chewie, Purple and more. Your company is able to use this type of advertising as well. If you use CTV though, it is important to use the best practices that are found when you continue reading below. 

    Consider the Customer

    When you start any advertising campaign, the first step is to consider the customers that you want to reach and define that target audience. You need to think about the genders you want to reach, the age ranges and even the socioeconomic and geographic information. Your ads should be sure to play on the information that your audience wants to see, as the customer is the most important part of the entire business ideation. Without an effective customer base, you will not have a business to sell your goods or services at all. 

    Use a Call to Action

    Any advertisement that you place utilizing CTV methods needs some form of call to action. A viewer is unable to click on a link as the advertisement is completely visual and found on a streaming video or over-the-top advertisement. For this reason, you should have the narrator state the website to visit or you should have the website in plain sight. If you would like, you can also put contact information for the business on your advertisement. Be sure you make the ad interesting though so people will want to follow through on the call to action. 

    Be Consistent

    You may have several different ads that you use for your CTV marketing, and you may even have other types of advertising techniques including print ads, social media ads and more. It is important to ensure that every advertisement that you have, including the CTV advertisements, have the same information. Make sure that your mission is the same on every advertisement and that the graphics used for your business are the same on every advertisement. This will help to prevent confusion from your potential customers which could prevent a lead occurring from a new customer. 

    Be Engaging

    Any CTV advertisement has to have some form of sound, whether that is a narrator speaking or music playing over a certain advertisement. This sound, after visual stimulation, will be the main way that you will capture an audience member’s attention. Be sure that the narrator you choose has a warm and engaging voice that is able to share your message clearly through the advertisement. If you do not have a narrator, be sure to use a song or music that is captivating and showcases the message of your brain in the lyrics or the feel of the music. 

    Final Thoughts

    CTV advertising is a new type of advertising that can be fun to use, but it is always important to keep the customer at the forefront of your mind. This will help you to follow the best practices that are listed above so you can grow your customer base exponentially. This is a very powerful tool that can make many people feel connected to your business so that you can generate the leads you want. You will not regret investing in television advertising, specifically if it is the CTV style.
