Registering for your subscription is pretty easy if you’re in Germany, but if you’re not, you will come across two separate problems simultaneously:
- Registration is valid only from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. If you are currently located in any other country, you will not be able to proceed with your registration.
- In order to finalize the subscription and registration processes, you will need to pay with your credit card. However, you can’t use any card – DAZN only accepts credit cards issued by German, Switzerland, and Austrian banks.
Overcoming the registration obstacles
Just like we’ve mentioned, there are two straightforward problems that people outside of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland are going to face if they want to subscribe to DAZN Sport platform. However, both of these problems are solvable.
To overcome the geographic issue of ‘being in Switzerland, Austria, or Germany’, you just need to use any VPN. Virtual private networks will allow you to benefit from hard encryption, which means that you can simply grab a, for instance, Austrian or German IP address, and the problem will immediately vanish.
Getting past the credit card problem is much harder. The solution involves a couple of relatively direct steps, including:
- First of all, you’ll need to go to the My Wire Card website. Sign up from there to get your new Virtual MasterCard.
- Moving your cash from your previous payment cards to your Virtual MasterCard is pretty easy; just follow the instructions on the site.
- After the transfer, you will have to wait for a while the process of transition is complete. Typically, the money needs about three to five working days to reach the Virtual card.
- The final step of the process involves the last bit of authentication – you will receive a special number (equivalent of PIN number for credit cards) that you’ll need to enter in order to activate your new Virtual MasterCard.
Upon activation, you will technically have a MasterCard ‘issued’ by one of the countries DAZN supports.
