We all know that carpets give a cosy ambiance to the interior of your house. They are soft to walk on and give an overall posh outlook to your house. But are they worth it? If you were to contact your local carpet store and asked about the prices, you would see that they are quite high. But say you buy and install them in your house, how long would they last? Are they worth the money that you are paying? Let’s see!
How long would your carpet last?
We as adults know that nothing lasts forever. Be its existence physical or abstract, everything has an expiry date. So does the carpet in your drawing-room. Your smooth and soft carpeted floor has a lifetime of about 5 to 15 years. A long jump right? Things stay only when you take good care of them. If you buy a good carpet but do not take care of it properly, it could get worn out in just five years or so. But if you take good care of it, it could last for several more years.
How to make your carpet last longer?
To take good care of things you do not need to pass any difficult course common or do you need to have a degree in cleanliness. All you have to do is to just be a bit attention towards it. This concept is true in the case of your carpet as well.
You need to vacuum and dust your carpet regularly. This is why we suggest you do not install carpets in every corner of your house, but rather select a few cosy corners. You could also take professional help now and then to keep your carpets clean. Make sure you do not bring any sharp or pointy objects near it and clip out the snags if and when they appear rather than pulling them out. Another thing you should take care of is to not bring any liquid food or drink near the carpet. The spills might stay there for a lifetime.
If you want aesthetic floorings, you will need to work hard for them. However, if you feel it is too much a job for you, you can always settle for other flooring options such as luxury vinyl plank flooring, which would be easier to handle and deal with.
