How to plan a restaurant proposal at your favorite place

You may be thinking about how to propose to your special someone, and if they haven’t given you any hints on their ideal proposal, you may be lost on what to do. One way to keep your proposal special is to choose their favorite restaurant and propose there.

Even if it’s not their favorite, but you two have history there (say your first date), a restaurant can be very meaningful. Here’s how to pull off the perfect engagement at a local restaurant.

    1. Decide where and why that restaurant is special.

Maybe you choose their favorite place or the first place you two met and had a date? Maybe you choose a place that’s close to their family so the entire family can be there? Maybe you simply want to go somewhere you’ve never tried but know is romantic, and they’ll enjoy.

    1. Plan if this will be a solo or family affair

If you’re proposing to someone who has a close-knit family, it may feel more special to that person if you include their family in on the proposal. Only you will know your significant other so make a decision that’s right for you both.

    1. Make a reservation or call ahead and speak with the manager

It’s a good idea to call ahead and get a reservation if it’s at a restaurant that’s reservation only or often packed. Nothing will give you more anxiety than you may already have than showing up and realizing you can’t get in.

If you plan to do something elaborate, such as put the ring in a desert or hide it in a fortune cookie, you should call the manager ahead of time and make arrangements.

No matter what you do, a restaurant proposal is one everyone will remember!
